Media access control security (MACsec) enabled links of a link aggregation group (LAG)

A device, comprising:

• one or more memories;
• and
• one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, to:
• determine that a Media Access Control Security (MACsec) session has been established on a first high-bandwidth link and a second high-bandwidth link of a link aggregation group (LAG),
• wherein the LAG combines a first plurality of low-bandwidth links to form the first high-bandwidth link and a second plurality of low-bandwidth links to create the second high-bandwidth link, and
• wherein the first high-bandwidth link has a higher bandwidth than each of the first plurality of low-bandwidth links and the second high-bandwidth link has a higher bandwidth than each of the second plurality of low-bandwidth links;
• determine that the first high-bandwidth link has flapped and/or terminated;
• and
• send, based on determining that the first high-bandwidth link has flapped and/or terminated, or receiving traffic, formatted for transmission via the MACsec session, via the second high-bandwidth link and not the first high-bandwidth link.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions, the set of instructions comprising:

• one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a device, cause the device to:
• determine that a Media Access Control Security (MACsec) session has been established on a first high-bandwidth link and a second high-bandwidth link of a link aggregation group (LAG),
• wherein the LAG combines a first plurality of low-bandwidth links to form the first high-bandwidth link and a second plurality of low-bandwidth links to create the second high-bandwidth link, and
• wherein the first high-bandwidth link has a higher bandwidth than each of the first plurality of low-bandwidth links and the second high-bandwidth link has a higher bandwidth than each of the second plurality of low-bandwidth links;
• determine that the first high-bandwidth link has flapped and/or terminated;
• and
• send or receive, based on determining that the first high-bandwidth link has flapped and/or terminated, traffic, formatted for transmission via the MACsec session, via the second high-bandwidth link and not the first high-bandwidth link.
