System and method for improving content fetching by selecting tunnel devices

A method for fetching a content identified by a content identifier from a web server by using a wearable device that is wearable on a person and is addressable in the Internet using a first IP address, the method is implemented by using first and second servers that are each connected to the Internet and are each addressable in the Internet using a respective IP address, the method implemented by the wearable device comprising:

• establishing a connection over the Internet with the first server, wherein the first server is selected from a plurality of servers;
• sending, to the first server over the established connection, a second message that comprises at least one value relating to at least one attribute type associated with the wearable device;
• monitoring or metering, a utilization or a processor in the wearable device;
• responsive to being in a non-idle state, determining, if an idling condition is met, wherein the idling condition is determined to be met based on, or according to, the monitored or metered resource utilization being under a threshold;
• responsive to the determination that the idling condition is met, shifting to an idle state;
• responsive to being in the idle state, determining if an idling condition is met;
• and
• responsive to the determination that the idling condition is not met, shifting to the non-idle state;
• sending, to the first server over the established connection, a first status message in response to shifting to the idle state;
• sending, to the first server over the established connection, a second status message in response to shifting to a non-idle state;
• responsive to being in the idle state, receiving, from the first or second server, a first message that comprises the content identifier;
• sending, to the web server, a content request that is a HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or a HTTP Secure (HTTPS) request, that comprises the content identifier;
• receiving, from the web server, the content, in response to the content request;
• and
• sending, to the first or the second server, the received content,
• wherein the wearable device is associated with a name or an identifier of a continent, a country, a region, a city, a street, a ZIP code, or a time-zone.
