Abstract
Normalizing external application data is disclosed, including: receiving external application data associated with an external application; determining normalized metadata based at least in part on inferring from the external application data; and using the normalized metadata to monitor activities at the external application.
Claims18
A system, comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- receive external application data associated with an external application;
- determine normalized metadata based at least in part on inferring from the external application data;
- use the normalized metadata to monitor activities at the external application;
- present the normalized metadata at a user interface;
- receive a user edit to the normalized metadata;
- and
- store the user edit as user authoritative data in the normalized metadata, wherein the user authoritative data will not be updated with subsequently inferred data;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor and configured to provide the processor with instructions.

A method, comprising:
- receiving external application data associated with an external application;
- determining normalized metadata based at least in part on inferring from the external application data;
- using the normalized metadata to monitor activities at the external application;
- presenting the normalized metadata at a user interface;
- receiving a user edit to the normalized metadata;
- and
- storing the user edit as user authoritative data in the normalized metadata, wherein the user authoritative data will not be updated with subsequently inferred data.

A computer program product, the computer program product comprises a non-transitory computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:
- receiving external application data associated with an external application;
- determining normalized metadata based at least in part on inferring from the external application data;
- using the normalized metadata to monitor activities at the external application;
- presenting the normalized metadata at a user interface;
- receiving a user edit to the normalized metadata;
- and
- storing the user edit as user authoritative data in the normalized metadata, wherein the user authoritative data will not be updated with subsequently inferred data.
