Abstract
In an example embodiment, a solution is used to provide for multiple and concurrent web application accessing of a database in a database-as-a-service (DBaaS) framework. More particularly, a cloud solution is provided on a DBaaS for leveraging Docker network functionality to provide a virtual Internet Protocol (IP) address pool, while utilizing in-memory database technology to set up an entire accessing solution for multiple and concurrent DBaaS users and web applications, which serve the data-intensive jobs to the in-memory database. This allows for improved functionality, performance, concurrency, and handling of network stress.

A system comprising:
- at least one hardware processor;
- and
- a computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one hardware processor, cause the at least one hardware processor to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a first request from a first user account operated by a first client machine to access data stored for a first tenant in a multi-tenant database;
- assigning a first virtual Internet Protocol (IP) address to the first tenant and storing a mapping between the first virtual IP address and the first tenant in an IP-tenant match data structure at a data center, the data center being a network of interconnected servers and maintaining base core images of one or more databases;
- creating an instance of a first portion of the multi-tenant database at the data center, the first portion being assigned to the first tenant and storing data for the first tenant, without an instance of the multi-tenant database as a whole having been created, the creating of the instance of the first portion additionally providing availability access to the instance of the first portion of the multi-tenant database via a first port;
- and
- providing an identification of the first port to the first user account.
A method comprising:
- receiving a first request from a first user account operated by a first client machine to access data stored for a first tenant in a multi-tenant database;
- assigning a first virtual Internet Protocol (IP) address to the first tenant and storing a mapping between the first virtual IP address and the first tenant in an IP-tenant match data structure at a data center, the data center being a network of interconnected servers and maintaining base core images of one or more databases;
- creating an instance of a first portion of the multi-tenant database at the data center, the first portion being assigned to the first tenant and storing data for the first tenant, without an instance of the multi-tenant database as a whole having been created, the creating of the instance of the first portion additionally providing availability access to the instance of the first portion of the multi-tenant database via a first port;
- and
- providing an identification of the first port to the first user account.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a first request from a first user account operated by a first client machine to access data stored for a first tenant in a multi-tenant database;
- assigning a first virtual Internet Protocol (IP) address to the first tenant and storing a mapping between the first virtual IP address and the first tenant in an IP-tenant match data structure at a data center, the data center being a network of interconnected servers and maintaining base core images of one or more databases;

- and
- providing an identification of the first port to the first user account.
