Systems, methods, and devices for bias mode management in memory systems

A method comprising:

• monitoring one or more accesses of a page of memory;
• determining, based on the monitoring, an access pattern of the page of memory;
• and
• selecting, based on the access pattern, a coherency bias for the page of memory;
• wherein the page of memory is a first page of memory, and the method further comprises:
• using the coherency bias for a number of second pages of memory;
• and
• determining the number of second pages of memory based on a profile of the one or more accesses.

A device comprising:

• a memory controller;
• an interconnect interface;
• a device coherency agent configured to maintain coherency between a first memory coupled to the memory controller and a second memory accessible to the device using the interconnect interface;
• and
• bias management logic configured to:
• monitor a first access, by a first apparatus, of a page of the first memory;
• monitor a second access, by a second apparatus, of the page of the first memory;
• modify, based on the first access and the second access, an indication;
• determine, based on the indication, an access pattern of the page of the first memory;
• and
• select a coherency bias for the page of the first memory based on the access pattern.

A system comprising:

• a host;
• a host memory coupled to the host;
• a device coupled to the host using_an interconnect;
• and
• a device memory coupled to the device;
• wherein the host is configured to maintain coherency between the host memory and the device memory;
• and
• wherein the device is configured to select a coherency bias for a page of the device memory based on an access pattern of the page of the device memory:,
• wherein the system further comprises bias management logic configured to:
• monitor a first access, by a first apparatus, of a page of the device memory;
• monitor a second access, by a second apparatus, of the page of the device memory;
• modify, based on the first access and the second access, an indication;
• determine, based on the indication, an access pattern of the page of the device memory;
• and
• select, based on the access pattern, a coherency bias for the page of the device memory.
