Method and device for measuring fluid density

A flow meter, comprising:

• a flow meter housing having a first side and a second side and a first end and a second end, the first side configured to mount to a flow conduit and defining an outlet flow orifice proximate to the first end, the second side defining an inlet flow orifice proximate to the second end, where the flow meter housing defines a meter flow cavity and where the flow meter housing is configured to permit a fluid to be introduced into the inlet flow orifice, flow through the meter flow cavity, and pass from the outlet flow orifice;
• and
• a sensor head positioned proximate to the outlet flow orifice, where the sensor head is configured to vibrate at a frequency upon introduction of electrical power while in contact with a fluid, to detect the vibration frequency of the sensor head, and to transmit the detected vibration frequency, where the vibration frequency is associated with a density of the fluid.
