## Abstract

The present invention discloses a combinational therapy for enhancing efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade for tumors with immune suppressive microenvironment. More specifically, this combination therapy involves the treatment of cancer through immune checkpoint inhibitors and CpG-oligodeoxynucleotides.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer, comprising an immune checkpoint blockade and an adjuvant composition; wherein the adjuvant composition comprises at least one CpG-oligodeoxynucleotide; wherein the CpG-oligodeoxynucleotide is CpG-2722 (SEQ ID NO:5), the immune checkpoint blockade is an anti-PD1 antibody.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the cancer possesses resistance to immunotherapy.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the cancer is selected from the group consisting of melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, renal cell carcinoma, hodgkin lymphoma, head and neck cancer, urothelial carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and small cell lung cancer.
