## Abstract

A phosphor powder composed of α-sialon phosphor particles containing Eu. The phosphor powder has an ammonium ion concentration CA of the phosphor powder of equal to or more than 15 ppm and equal to or less than 100 ppm, which is determined from the following extracted ion analysis. (Extracted Ion Analysis A) 0.5 g of a phosphor powder is added to 25 ml of distilled water in a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-made container with a lid and held at 60° C. for 24 hours, and then a total mass MA of ammonium ions included in an aqueous solution obtained by removing a solid content from the solution by filtration is determined using ion chromatography. Then, CA is determined by dividing MA by the mass of the phosphor powder.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A phosphor powder composed of α-sialon phosphor particles containing Eu,
wherein an ammonium ion concentration CA of the phosphor powder, determined from the following extracted ion analysis A, is equal to or more than 15 ppm and equal to or less than 100 ppm,
(Extracted Ion Analysis A)
0.5 g of a phosphor powder is added to 25 ml of distilled water in a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-made container with a lid and held at 60° C. for 24 hours, a total mass MA of ammonium ions included in an aqueous solution obtained by removing a solid content from the solution by filtration is then determined using ion chromatography, and then, CA is determined by dividing MA by a mass of the phosphor powder.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The phosphor powder according to claim 1,
wherein an ammonium ion concentration CB of the phosphor powder, determined from the following extracted ion analysis B, is equal to or more than 50 ppm and equal to or less than 250 ppm,
(Extracted Ion Analysis B)
0.5 g of a phosphor powder is added to 25 ml of distilled water in a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-made container with a lid and held at 80° C. for 24 hours, a total mass MB of ammonium ions included in an aqueous solution obtained by removing a solid content from the solution by filtration is then determined using ion chromatography, and then, CB is determined by dividing MB by a mass of the phosphor powder.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The phosphor powder according to claim 1,
wherein an ammonium ion concentration CC of the phosphor powder, determined from the following extracted ion analysis C, is equal to or more than 250 ppm and equal to or less than 650 ppm,
(Extracted Ion Analysis C)
0.5 g of a phosphor powder is added to 25 ml of distilled water in a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-made container with a lid and held at 100° C. for 24 hours, a total mass MC of ammonium ions included in an aqueous solution obtained by removing a solid content from the solution by filtration is then determined using ion chromatography, and then, CC is determined by dividing MC by a mass of the phosphor powder.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The phosphor powder according to-claim 1,
wherein the α-sialon phosphor particles are composed of an α-sialon phosphor containing an Eu element, represented by General Formula: (M1x, M2y, Euz)(Si12-(m+n)Alm+n)(OnN16-n) (provided that M1 is a monovalent Li element and M2 is a divalent Ca element), and in the general formula, 0≤x<2.0, 0≤y<2.0, 0≤z≤0.5, 0<x+y, 0.3≤x+y+z≤2.0, 0<m≤4.0, and 0<n≤3.0 are satisfied.
