In addition, compositions comprising said novel mogrosides and methods for preparing the same are provided. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A method for enhancing the sweetness of a beverage comprising (i) providing a beverage comprising at least one sweet ingredient and (ii) adding a compound selected from the group consisting of: to the consumable to provide a beverage with enhanced sweetness, wherein the compound is present in a mixture in an amount from about 50% to about 99% by weight on a dry basis and added to the beverage at a concentration at or below the threshold sweetness recognition concentration of the compound. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the sweet ingredient is a sweetener selected from the group consisting of sucrose, glyceraldehyde, dihydroxyacetone, erythrose, threose, erythrulose, arabinose, lyxose, ribose, xylose, ribulose, xylulose, allose, altrose, galactose, glucose, gulose, idose, mannose, talose, fructose, psicose, sorbose, tagatose, mannoheptulose, sedoheltulose, octolose, fucose, rhamnose, arabinose, turanose, sialose, rebaudioside A, rebaudioside B, rebaudioside C, rebaudioside D, rebaudioside E, rebaudioside L-fucose, L-arabinose, turanose and combinations thereof. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the beverage is selected from a mid-calorie, low-calorie and zero-calorie beverage. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the beverage is selected from the group consisting of enhanced sparkling beverages, cola, lemon-lime flavored sparkling beverage, orange flavored sparkling beverage, grape flavored sparkling beverage, strawberry flavored sparkling beverage, pineapple flavored sparkling beverage, ginger-ale, soft drink, root beer, fruit juice, fruit-flavored juice, juice drink, nectar, vegetable juice, vegetable-flavored juice, sports drink, energy drink, enhanced water drink, enhanced water with vitamins, near water drink, coconut water, tea type drink, coffee, cocoa drink, beverage containing milk components, coffee containing milk components, beverage containing cereal extracts and smoothies. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the beverage comprises a beverage matrix selected from the group consisting of deionized water, distilled water, reverse osmosis water, carbon-treated water, purified water, demineralized water, phosphoric acid, phosphate buffer, citric acid, citrate buffer and combinations thereof. ### Claim 6 A method, for enhancing the flavor of a beverage comprising (i) providing a beverage comprising at least one flavor ingredient and (ii) adding a compound selected from the group consisting of: to the consumable to provide a beverage with enhanced flavor, wherein the compound is present in a mixture in an amount from about 50% to about 99% by weight on a dry basis and added to the beverage at a concentration at or below the threshold flavor recognition concentration of the compound. ### Claim 7 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein the flavor ingredient is selected from the group consisting of vanillin, vanilla extract, mango extract, cinnamon, citrus, coconut, ginger, viridiflorol, almond, menthol, menthol without mint, grape skin extract, and grape seed extract and combinations thereof. ### Claim 8 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein the beverage is selected from a mid-calorie, low-calorie and zero-calorie beverage. ### Claim 9 (depends on 6) The method of claim 6, wherein the beverage is selected from the group consisting of enhanced
