Abstract
A User Equipment having at least one sensor, a short range communications interface, a long range communications interface and a controller, wherein the controller is configured for: establishing a connection with a first access point through the short range communications interface; receiving operating instructions for the at least one sensor from the first access point; causing the at least one sensor to operate according to the operating instructions; receiving sensor data from the at least one sensor; and for reporting the sensor data through the long range communications interface.
Claims19
A user equipment, comprising:
- at least one central processing unit;
- a cellular interface;
- a short-range interface;
- at least one sensor;
- and
- a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, coupled to the at least one central processing unit, further including computer-readable instructions, when executed by the at least one central processing unit, cause the user equipment to:
- receive operating instructions for the user equipment through the short-range interface;
- cause the user equipment to operate according to the operating instructions,
- receive sensor data from the at least one sensor;
- and
- report the sensor data through the cellular interface.
A method for use in a user equipment that comprises at least one central processing unit, a cellular interface, a short-range interface, and at least one sensor, wherein the method comprises:
- receiving operating instructions for the user equipment through the short-range interface;
- causing the user equipment to operate according to the operating instructions;
- receiving sensor data from the at least one sensor;
- and
- reporting the sensor data through the cellular interface.
A nontransitory computer readable medium encoded with instructions that, when executed on a processor, causes the processor to perform a method for use in a user equipment that comprises at least one central processing unit, a cellular interface, a short-range interface, and at least one sensor, wherein the method comprises:
- receiving operating instructions for the user equipment through the short-range interface;
- causing the user equipment to operate according to the operating instructions;
- receiving sensor data from the at least one sensor;
- and
- reporting the sensor data through the cellular interface.
