Abstract
A communication method includes a first network device obtaining a first route and a second route from a second network device. A first network segment corresponding to the first route is a subnet segment of a second network segment corresponding to the second route. The second route is an aggregated route, and the first route indicates that the first network segment is unreachable. The first network device switches a next hop of the aggregated route based on the first route.
Claims20
A communication method implemented by a first network device, wherein the communication method comprises:
- obtaining, from a second network device, a first route and a second route, wherein a first prefix corresponding to the first route is longer than a second prefix corresponding to the second route, wherein the second route is an aggregated route, and wherein the first route indicates that the first prefix is unreachable;
- and
- switching, based on the first route, a next hop of the aggregated route from the second network device to a third network device, wherein either an access side device is dual-homed to the third network device and the second network device or a fourth route advertised by the third network device is a backup route of a third route advertised by the second network device.
A first network device comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- one or more memories coupled to the at least one processor and configured to store programming instructions, wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the programming instructions to cause the first network device to:
- obtain, from a second network device, a first route and a second route, wherein a first prefix corresponding to the first route is longer than a second prefix corresponding to the second route, wherein the second route is an aggregated route, and wherein the first route indicates that the first prefix is unreachable;
- and
- switch, based on the first route, a next hop of the aggregated route from the second network device to a third network device, wherein either an access side device is dual-homed to the third network device and the second network device or a fourth route advertised by the third network device is a backup route of a third route advertised by the second network device.
A network system comprising a first network device, wherein the first network device is configured to:
- obtain, from a second network device, a first route and a second route, wherein a first prefix corresponding to the first route is longer than a second prefix corresponding to the second route, wherein the second route is an aggregated route, and wherein the first route indicates that the first prefix is unreachable;
- and
- switch, based on the first route, a next hop of the aggregated route from the second network device to a third network device, wherein either an access side device is dual-homed to the third network device and the second network device or a fourth route advertised by the third network device is a backup route of a third route advertised by the second network device.
