Lighting device with light partially covered by light adjusting layer and method for making

A lighting device comprising:

• a substrate;
• a light emitting unit disposed on the substrate, the light emitting unit comprising a light output surface and a plurality of top electrodes;
• a light adjusting layer disposed on the light emitting unit, the light adjusting layer comprising a first portion and a second portion connected to the first portion;
• and
• at least one electrode connecting element;
• wherein the top electrodes are electrically connected to each other through the electrode connecting element, the first portion only partially covers the light output surface, and the second portion does not cover the light output surface and does not overlap the light emitting unit in a normal direction of the substrate;
• wherein in a top view, a projected area of the first portion is greater than a projected area of the second portion.
