Adaptive management of casting requests and/or user inputs at a rechargeable device

A portable computing device, comprising:

• one or more speakers;
• one or more batteries;
• a device system on a chip (SoC) at least selectively powered by the one or more batteries;
• a WiFi chip at least selectively powered by the one or more batteries;
• wherein the WiFi chip at least selectively executes stored WiFi chip instructions to:
• receive, from a broadcasting device and via local network, multicast domain name system (mDNS) broadcasted data,
• wherein the device SoC is operating in a first operating mode when the WiFi chip receives the mDNS broadcasted data;
• determine, based on the mDNS broadcasted data, whether a target port identified by the mDNS broadcasted data corresponds to a particular port that is accessible via the portable computing device;
• when the target port identified by the mDNS broadcasted data corresponds to the particular port accessible via the computing device:
• access, based on the target port corresponding to the particular port, cached broadcast device data that is stored in a memory device that is accessible to the WiFi chip when the device SoC is operating in the first operating mode,
• determine, based on the cached broadcast device data stored in the memory, whether the cached broadcast device data characterizes one or more features of the broadcasting device specified by the mDNS broadcasted data,
• when the cached broadcast device data characterizes one or more features of the broadcasting device:
• generate, based on the cached broadcast device data, responsive data;
• and
• transmit, via the local network, the responsive data to the broadcasting device.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions, which, when executed by a WiFi chip of a computing device, cause the WiFi chip to:

• receive, from a broadcasting device and at the WiFi chip, multicast domain name system (m DNS) broadcasted data from the broadcasting device,
• wherein the computing device includes a device system on a chip (SoC) that is operating in a first operating mode when the WiFi chip of the computing device receives the mDNS broadcasted data;
• determine, based on the mDNS broadcasted data, whether a target port identified by the mDNS broadcasted data corresponds to a particular port that is accessible via the computing device;
• when the target port identified by the mDNS broadcasted data corresponds to the particular port accessible via the computing device:
• access, based on the target port corresponding to the particular port, cached broadcast device data that is stored in a memory device that is accessible to the WiFi chip when the device SoC is operating in the first operating mode,
• determine, based on the cached broadcast device data stored in the memory, whether the cached broadcast device data characterizes one or more features of the broadcasting device specified by the mDNS broadcasted data,
• when the cached broadcast device data characterizes one or more features of the broadcasting device:
• generate, based on the cached broadcast device data, responsive data;
• and transmit the responsive data to the broadcasting device.
