Abstract
Techniques are disclosed relating to methods that include receiving an indication of an access by a user to a web page that includes a beacon, and calculating a readiness score for triggering the beacon. The methods may also include determining, based on the readiness score, whether to perform a client-side or server-side triggering of the beacon. The triggering causes data associated with the access to be transmitted to a third-party computer system.
Claims20
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that are executed by a computer system to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at a first computing system, an indication of an access by a user to a web page including a beacon, the web page hosted by a web server, wherein the beacon includes an indication of an acceptable time delay for receiving a response to the beacon;
- intercepting the beacon included in the web page accessed by the user;
- within a time period based on the acceptable time delay, modifying a beacon data set associated with the beacon;
- and
- based on modifying the beacon data set, transmitting the beacon data set to a second computing system.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, at a first computing system, an indication of an access by a user to a web page including a beacon, the web page hosted by a web server, wherein the beacon includes an indication of an acceptable time delay for receiving a response to the beacon;
- determining a completeness of a beacon data set associated with the beacon;
- based on the completeness of the beacon data set and the acceptable time delay, modifying the beacon data set associated with the beacon;
- and
- based on modifying the beacon data set, transmitting the beacon data set to a second computing system.
A system, comprising:
- a hardware processor;
- and
- a non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that are executable by the processor to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at a first computing system, an indication of an access by a user to a web page including a beacon of one type of a plurality of types, the web page hosted by a web server;
- intercepting the beacon included in the web page accessed by the user;
- determining a completeness of a beacon data set associated with the beacon;
- determining, based on the type of the beacon, a time frame for replying to the beacon;
- based on the completeness of the beacon data set and the time frame, modifying the beacon data set to include at least one of access data and user data, the access data associated with access of the web page and user data associated with the user accessing the web page;
- and
- based on modifying the beacon data set, transmitting the beacon data set to a second computing system.
