Abstract
The present description concerns attribution, on a communication over an I2C bus, of a first address to a first device by a second device, wherein the second device sends the first address over the I2C bus and, if the second device receives no acknowledgment data, then the first device records the first address.
Claims31
A method of attribution, on a communication over an inter-integrated circuit (I2C) bus, of a first address to a first device by a second device, the method comprising:
- receiving, by the first device from the second device, the first address over the I2C bus;
- after receiving the first address, monitoring, by the first device, the I2C bus for acknowledgement data for the first address;
- and
- in response to the second device not receiving the acknowledgment data for the first address, recording, by the first device, the first address.
1 more element
A slave device comprising:
- a non-volatile memory;
- and
- an inter-integrated circuit (I2C) bus communication interface configured to:
- receive, from a master device, a first address over the I2C bus;
- after receiving the first address, monitor the I2C bus for acknowledgement data for the first address;
- and
- in response to the master device not receiving the acknowledgment data for the first address, record the first address.
