Abstract
Configurations for data center component monitoring are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, movement of a server component is determined based on sensor data and the movement is used to diagnose a root cause for a server component failure.
Claims20
A processor, comprising:
- one or more circuits to determine movement of a server component based, at least in part, on data from one or more sensors, and to diagnose a root cause for a server component connection failure based, at least in part, on the movement.
A method, comprising:
- determining an estimated source of a server component connection failure based, at least in part, on movement data from one or more sensors for a server component, the movement data collected during a powered state of the server component and a non-powered state of the server component.
A system, comprising:
- one or more sensors to determine movement data for a server component, at least one sensor of the one or more sensors arranged proximate an identified server component connection point, the one or more sensors to collect the movement data during both an operational state of the server component and a non-operational state of the server component, wherein the movement data is to be used to at least one of diagnose a root cause fora server component connection failure or determine an estimated source of the server component connection failure;
- a power supply to provide operational energy to the one or more sensors;
- and
- a memory to receive the movement data from the one or more sensors.
