Abstract
An optical filter may include a substrate. The optical filter may include a first mirror. The optical filter may include a second mirror. The optical filter may include a spacer. The first mirror, the second mirror, and the spacer may form a plurality of component filters. A first component filter, of the plurality of component filters, may be associated with a first cross-sectional area and a second component filter, of the plurality of component filters, is associated with a second cross-sectional area. The first cross-sectional area and the second cross-sectional area may be configured to response balance the first component filter and the second component filter.
Claims20
An optical filter, comprising:
- a first component filter associated with a first wavelength of light;
- and
- a second component filter associated with a second wavelength of light,
- wherein the first wavelength of light is different from the second wavelength of light, and
- wherein a size of the first component filter is based on one or more of:
- an input flux from the second wavelength of light,
- a cross-sectional area of the second component filter,
- a filter responsivity of the second component filter to directing a wavelength toward a sensor element, or
- a sensor responsivity of the sensor element at the second wavelength of light.
An optical filter, comprising:
- a first component filter associated with a common wavelength and a first area;
- and
- a second component filter associated with the common wavelength and a second area that is different from the first area;
- a third component filter associated with a third area that is different from the first area and the second area;
- a fourth component filter associated with a fourth area that is different from the first area, the second area, and the third area;
- and
- a fifth component filter associated with a fifth area that is different from the first area, the second area, the third area, and the fourth area,
- wherein the optical filter is configured to perform multiple samplings of a signal level of light associated with the common wavelength.
A filter, comprising:
- a first component filter associated with a first wavelength;
- a second component filter associated with a second wavelength,
- wherein the first wavelength is different from the second wavelength, and
- wherein a first size of the first component filter is different from a second size of the second component filter;
- and
- four or more other component filters associated with one or more sizes that are different from the first size of the first component filter and the second size of the second component filter.
