Devices and methods to attach a composite core to a surrounding structure

A composite core assembly comprising:

• a composite core structure including a plurality of interconnected cells, the composite core structure including an upper side, a lower side, and a perimeter edge extending between the upper side and the lower side, the plurality of interconnected cells including cell walls extending between the upper side and the lower side, the composite core structure further comprising two or more ribbon corrugations, the two or more ribbon corrugations defining a ribbon direction;
• and
• at least one attachment rail coupled to the composite core structure, the at least one attachment rail including a first planar member and a second planar member arranged at an angle relative to the first planar member, the first planar member being at least partially integrated into the composite core structure, the first planar member arranged parallel to the ribbon direction of the composite core structure;
• wherein the first planar member extends outward from the perimeter edge of the composite core structure.
