Abstract
A drive assembly for a necker machine includes a plurality of motors, each motor including an output shaft, a plurality of drive wheel assemblies, each drive wheel assembly operatively coupled to an associated necker machine drive shaft, and a number of timing/drive belts operatively coupled to each drive wheel assembly.
Claims14
A drive assembly for a necker machine, said necker machine including a frame assembly and a plurality of processing stations, each processing station including a number of drive shafts, said drive assembly comprising:
- a number of motors, each motor including an output shaft;
- and a number of timing/drive belts, wherein the output shaft of each motor is structured to be operatively coupled to:
- one or more drive shafts of the number of drive shafts of a first processing station of the plurality of processing stations, one or more drive shafts of the number of drive shafts of a second processing station of the plurality of processing stations via one or more timing/drive belts of the number of timing/drive belts, and a number of drive wheel assemblies, each drive wheel assembly structured to be operatively coupled to a drive shaft of the number of drive shafts of a respective processing station of the plurality of processing stations, wherein the output shaft of each motor is operatively coupled to a corresponding drive wheel assembly of the number of drive wheel assemblies;
- wherein each drive wheel assembly includes a double wide drive wheel;
- and wherein each drive wheel is a cantilevered drive wheel.
A necker machine comprising:
- a frame assembly;
- a plurality of processing stations, each said processing station including a number of drive shafts;
- and drive assembly comprising:
- a number of motors, each motor including an output shaft;
- and a number of timing/drive belts, wherein the output shaft of each motor is operatively coupled to:
- one or more drive shafts of the number of drive shafts of a first processing station of the plurality of processing stations, one or more drive shafts of the number of drive shafts of a second processing station of the plurality of processing stations via one or more timing/drive belts of the number of timing/drive belts, and a number of drive wheel assemblies, each drive wheel assembly operatively coupled to a drive shaft of the number of drive shafts of a respective processing station of the plurality of processing stations, wherein the output shaft of each motor is operatively coupled to a corresponding drive wheel assembly of the number of drive wheel assemblies;
- wherein each drive wheel assembly includes a double wide drive wheel;
- and wherein each drive wheel is a cantilevered drive wheel.
