Abstract
Some embodiments of a medical device anchor system include an anchor device, a tether, and an adapter for securing a medical instrument (such as a catheter or the like) in place relative to a skin penetration point using subcutaneous anchors.
Claims17
An anchor device for securing a position of a medical instrument, the anchor device comprising:
- a retainer body comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and an anchor that extends distally from the distal end;
- a tether member attached to the proximal end of the retainer body that extends proximally from the retainer body, and
- a second body member that is attachable to the tether member at a position proximally spaced away from the proximal end of the retainer body such that the tether member is positioned between a distal end of the second body member and the proximal end of the retainer body;
- wherein the retainer body releasably couples to a medical instrument while the second body member is releasably coupled to the medical instrument, wherein the tether member includes a plurality of mating locations spaced apart at different longitudinal positions relative to the proximal end of the retainer body, and wherein the second body is releasably and directly matable to the tether member at any of the plurality of mating locations.

- a tether member attached to the proximal end of the retainer body that extends proximally from the retainer body, the tether member having a plurality of mating locations spaced apart at different longitudinal positions relative to the proximal end of the retainer body, wherein the tether member is directly connected to the retainer body so that a distal end of the tether member is permanently maintained in a fixed position relative to the retainer body;
- and
- a second body member that is attachable to the tether member at a position proximally spaced away from the proximal end of the retainer body such that the tether member is positioned between a distal end of the second body member and the proximal end of the retainer body.
