Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. Accordingly the embodiments herein provides a method for handling a RAR in a wireless communication system (300).
Claims14
A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting a random access (RA) preamble;
- monitoring physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI) with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a RA-radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) (RA-RNTI);
- identifying information associated with a system frame number (SFN) included in the DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI;
- receiving a random access response (RAR) in a RAR window based on the information associated with the SFN included in DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI;
- identifying whether the information associated with the SFN included in the DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI corresponds to information associated with a SFN of a system frame in which the RA preamble is transmitted;
- determining to decode the RAR in case that the information associated with the SFN included in the DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI corresponds to the information associated with the SFN of the system frame in which the RA preamble is transmitted;
- and
- decoding the RAR based on the determination.
A terminal in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor configured to:
- transmit, via the transceiver, a random access (RA) preamble,
- monitor physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI) with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a RA-radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) (RA-RNTI),
- identify information associated with a system frame number (SFN) included in the DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI,
- receive, via the transceiver, a random access response (RAR) in a RAR window based on the information associated with the SFN included in DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI,
- identify whether the information associated with the SFN included in the DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI corresponds to information associated with a SFN of a system frame in which the RA preamble is transmitted,
- determine to decode the RAR in case that the information associated with the SFN included in the DCI with CRC scrambled by the RA-RNTI corresponds to the information associated with the SFN of the system frame in which the RA preamble is transmitted, and
- decode the RAR based on the determination.
