Identifying signal interference sources

A non-transitory computer readable medium that includes computer executable instructions which, when implemented by a frequency manager, facilitate a scan campaign that includes operations comprising:

• instructing an Internet-of-Things (IoT) controller to implement a scan plan which:
• instructs a first IoT sensor to:
• perform a first scan of a first radio frequency (RF) band;
• generate, from results obtained with the first scan, first scan data;
• and
• first communicate the first scan data to the IoT controller;
• and
• second communicate the first scan data to a frequency controller;
• and
• instructing the frequency controller, based on the first scan data, to:
• identify a second frequency band;
• and
• wherein the second frequency band is indicative of an interfering signal, generated by a signal interference source (SIS), and arising within the first frequency band.

A process for remediating interfering signals comprising:

• instructing, by a frequency controller, an Internet-of-Things (IoT) controller to implement a scan plan which:
• instructs a first IoT sensor to:
• perform a first scan of a first radio frequency (RF) band;
• generate, from results obtained with the first scan, first scan data;
• measure and, provide in the first scan data, a signal strength of a first signal detected in the first RF band;
• first communicate the first scan data to the IoT controller;
• and
• second communicate the first scan data to the frequency controller;
• instructing, by a frequency manager, the frequency controller, based on the first scan data, to:
• identify a second frequency band;
• wherein the second frequency band is indicative of the first signal being an interfering signal, generated by a signal interference source (SIS), and arising within the first RF band;
• accessing an IoT sensor database to identify a second IoT sensor;
• instructing the IoT controller to configure the second IoT sensor to implement the scan plan;
• wherein, pursuant to the scan plan, the second IoT sensor:
• performs a second scan of the first RF band;
• generates, from results obtained during the second scan, second scan data;
• third communicates the second scan data to the IoT controller;
• and
• fourth communicates the second scan data to the frequency manager;
• estimating, by the frequency manager using a circular range estimation technique, a location of the SIS based upon the first scan data, second scan data provided by a second IoT sensor, and third scan data provided by a third IoT sensor;
• and
• determining, by the frequency manager, a remediation action to be taken to remediate interference by the interfering signal with one or more second RF signals.
