Abstract
A determination is made as to whether priority is given to a print setting or a print preset by a general-purpose print service performed on an information processing apparatus. This makes it possible to resolve a conflict in settings.
Claims16
A printing apparatus configured to communicate with an information processing apparatus, the printing apparatus comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- at least one memory storing executable instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the printing apparatus to perform operations comprising:
- registering first setting information related to printing based on user instructions on a setting screen displayed on a display unit of the printing apparatus;
- in response to an acquisition request from the information processing apparatus, transmitting identification information of the first setting information to the information processing apparatus;
- receiving second setting information related to printing set on the information processing apparatus and the identification information from the information processing apparatus;
- determining, in a case where a setting included in the first setting information and a setting included in the second setting information conflict with each other, whether priority is to be given to the setting included in the first setting information or the setting included in the second setting information;
- generating a print job based on at least one of the second setting information and the first setting information corresponding to the identification information, wherein, in a case where the setting included in the first setting information and the setting included in the second setting information conflict with each other, the print job is generated further based on a result of the determination;
- and
- executing the print job,
- wherein the determination of whether the priority is to be given to the setting included in the first setting information or the setting included in the second setting information is performed based on the user instructions on the setting screen.

A method for a printing apparatus that communicates with an information processing apparatus, the method comprising:
- registering first setting information related to printing based on user instructions on a setting screen displayed on a display unit of the printing apparatus;
- in response to an acquisition request from an information processing apparatus, transmitting identification information indicating the first setting information to the information processing apparatus;
- receiving second setting information relating to printing set on the information processing apparatus and the identification information from the information processing apparatus;
- determining, in a case where a setting included in the first setting information and a setting included in the second setting information conflict with each other, whether priority is to be given to the setting included in the first setting information or the setting included in the second setting information;
- generating a print job based on at least one of the second setting information and the first setting information corresponding to the identification information, wherein, in a case where the setting included in the first setting information and the setting included in the second setting information conflict with each other, the print job is generated further based on a result of the determination;
- and
- executing the print job,
- wherein the determination of whether the priority is to be given to the setting included in the first setting information or the setting included in the second setting information is performed based on the user instructions on the setting screen.
