Abstract
A quantum file management system is disclosed. A quantum file manager receives, from a requestor, a request to access a quantum file that comprises a plurality of qubits. The quantum file manager determines, for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits, a qubit identifier of the respective qubit. The quantum file manager sends, to the requestor in response to the request, information that includes the qubit identifier for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits.

A method comprising:
- receiving, by a quantum file manager executing on at least one processor device, from a requestor, a request to access a quantum file that stores data having a contextual meaning, wherein the quantum file stores the data across a plurality of qubits;
- determining, by the quantum file manager, for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits, a qubit identifier of the respective qubit based on a quantum file registry record that stores metadata corresponding to the quantum file, wherein the stored metadata includes the qubit identifier for each respective qubit of plurality of qubits;
- generating a quantum file link structure, using the metadata qubits, that corresponds to the quantum file, the quantum file link structure comprising information that identifies the plurality of qubits including status;
- and
- sending, to the requestor in response to the request, the information that includes the qubit identifier and the status for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits.
A quantum computing system, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor device coupled to the memory to:
- receive, by a quantum file manager executing on the at least one processor device, from a requestor, a request to access a quantum file that stores data having a contextual meaning, wherein the quantum file stores the data across a plurality of qubits;
- determine, by the quantum file manager, for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits, a qubit identifier of the respective qubit based on a quantum file registry record that stores metadata corresponding to the quantum file, wherein the stored metadata includes the qubit identifier for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits;
- generate a quantum file link structure, using the metadata qubits, that corresponds to the quantum file, the quantum file link structure comprising information that identifies the plurality of qubits including status;
- and
- send, to the requestor in response to the request, the information that includes the qubit identifier and the status for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits.
A computer program product stored on a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and including instructions to cause a processor device to:
- receive, by a quantum file manager executing on the at least one processor device, from a requestor, a request to access a quantum file that stores data having a contextual meaning, wherein the quantum file stores the data across a plurality of qubits;
- determine, by the quantum file manager, for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits, a qubit identifier of the respective qubit based on a first quantum file registry record of a plurality of different quantum file registry records, each quantum file registry record corresponding to a different quantum file, each quantum file registry record identifying a different plurality of qubits, the first quantum file registry record stores metadata corresponding to the first quantum file, and the metadata corresponding to the first quantum file registry record includes the qubit identifier for each qubit of the plurality of qubits and a location of each qubit of the plurality of qubits;
- generate a quantum file link structure, using the metadata qubits, that corresponds to the quantum file, the quantum file link structure comprising information that includes the plurality of qubits including status;
- and
- send, to the requestor in response to the request, the information that includes the qubit identifier and the status for each respective qubit of the plurality of qubits.
