Abstract
Systems and methods of forming and analyzing a dissolvable article are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method of analyzing a dissolvable article includes providing a dissolvable article comprising a water-soluble block copolymer and a fragrance, capturing a plurality of images of a surface of the dissolvable article using a three dimensional imaging device, wherein the plurality of images have different spatial properties and wherein the plurality of images are of a substantially similar viewing area of the three-dimensional imaging device, and determining a measurement of pore density and surface roughness of the surface of the dissolvable article.
Claims20
A method of analyzing a dissolvable article, wherein the method comprises:
- providing a dissolvable article comprising a water-soluble block copolymer and a fragrance;
- capturing a plurality of images of a surface of the dissolvable article using a three dimensional imaging device,
- wherein the plurality of images have different spatial properties and
- wherein the plurality of images are of a substantially similar viewing area of the three-dimensional imaging device;
- and
- determining a measurement of pore density and surface roughness of the surface of the dissolvable article.
A method of analyzing a solid dissolvable article, wherein the method comprises:
- providing a solid dissolvable article comprising a water-soluble block copolymer;
- capturing an image of a surface of the dissolvable article using a three dimensional imaging device;
- processing the image using a contrast function;
- producing a data set representative of at least one of roughness, pore volume, depression volume and elevation volume, with the processed image;
- determining a measurement of at least one of pore density, surface roughness depression volume and elevation volume of the surface of the solid dissolvable article;
- determining dissolution of the solid dissolvable article;
- and
- correlating the determined measurement of at least one of pore density and surface roughness of the surface of the dissolvable article to the dissolution.
