Abstract
The present invention relates to a thermoplastic composition comprising an amorphous polyamide polymer for use in 3D printing, the respective use and methods for forming objects by 3D printing using the thermoplastic compositions described herein.
Claims15
A thermoplastic 3D printing composition consisting of:
- (a) at least 25 wt. % of an amorphous polyamide polymer, the polyamide polymer being a reaction product of:
- a1) at least one dimerized fatty acid;
- a2) optionally at least one mono carboxylic acid;
- a3) optionally at least one linear dicarboxylic acid;
- and
- a4) at least one linear diamine;
- (b) at least 5 wt. % of a crystalline or semicrystalline thermoplastic polymer selected from the group consisting of polypropylene (PP), ethylvinylacetate (EVA), polyacrylate, polyamide different from (a) and combinations thereof;
- (c) optionally at least 0.1 wt. % of a compatibilizing agent;
- and
- (d) optionally at least 1 wt. % of a filler.
