Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of producing a colored glass for a pharmaceutical container by which the transmittance of a glass to be obtained is easily controlled so as to satisfy the standards of the Japanese Pharmacopoeia.
Claims2
A colored glass for a pharmaceutical container, comprising as a glass composition, in terms of mass %, 65% to 75% of SiO2, 0% to 20% of B2O3, 1% to 10% of Al2O3, 1% to 10% of R2O, where R is selected from at least one of Li, Na, and K, 1% to 5% of R′O, where R′ is selected from at least one of Ca and Ba, 0.01% to 5% of Fe2O3, and 0.01% to 5% of TiO2 , further satisfying a relational expression of 1.00≤[Fe2O3 (content of Fe2O3)]×[TiO2 (content of TiO2)]≤3.50, and satisfying a transmittance (ultraviolet transmittance) specified in “Light transmission test for light-resistant containers” of the Japanese Pharmacopoeia, section 7.01.
