Abstract
The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for following a treatment protocol having one or more treatment parameters to cause a targeted physiological outcome at a distal site, assessing an expression level of a gene in a region of interest after completing the treatment protocol, and modifying the one or more treatment parameters based on the expression level of the gene. The treatment protocol may include one or more ultrasound energy treatments to the region of interest.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- an energy application device configured to apply a first non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment to a region of interest of a subject according to a treatment protocol having a recovery period between subsequent energy treatments to the subject to cause a change in concentration of one or more molecules at a distal site in the subject;
- and
- a controller comprising a memory, wherein the memory stores instructions for the treatment protocol that, when executed by the controller, cause the controller to:
- receive one or more inputs indicative of respective concentrations of the one or more molecules at the distal site;
- determine that at least one of the respective concentrations of the one or more molecules are not within a respective threshold range associated with the treatment protocol;
- adjust a time of the recovery period in the treatment protocol stored in the memory before applying a second non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment to the region of interest in response to determining that the at least one of the respective concentrations of the one or more molecules are not within the respective threshold range;
- and
- cause the energy application device to operate the treatment protocol to apply the second non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment after the adjusted time of the recovery period.
A system, comprising:
- a controller comprising a memory, wherein the memory stores instructions for a treatment protocol that, when executed by the controller, cause the controller to activate the treatment protocol to cause an energy application device to apply a first non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment to a region of interest of a subject according to the treatment protocol, wherein the instructions comprises a recovery period between subsequent energy treatments to the subject to cause a change in concentration of one or more molecules at a distal site in the subject, and wherein the controller is further configured to operate in the treatment protocol to:
- receive one or more inputs indicative of respective concentrations of the one or more molecules at the distal site;
- determine that at least one of the respective concentrations of the one or more molecules are not within a respective threshold range associated with the treatment protocol;
- adjust a time of the recovery period before applying a second non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment to the region of interest in response to determining that the at least one of the respective concentrations of the one or more molecules are not within the respective threshold range;
- and
- cause the energy application device to apply the second non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment after the adjusted time of the recovery period.
A system, comprising:
- an energy application device configured to apply a first non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment to a region of interest of a subject according to a treatment protocol having a recovery period between subsequent energy treatments to the subject to cause a characteristic profile of changes in the subject;
- and
- a controller comprising a memory, wherein the memory stores instructions for the treatment protocol that, when executed by the controller, cause the controller to:
- receive one or more inputs indicative of respective concentrations of the one or more molecules at a distal site in the subject;
- determine that at least one of the respective concentrations of the one or more molecules differs from the characteristic profile of changes;
- adjust a time of the recovery period before applying a second non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment to the region of interest in response to determining that the at least one of the respective concentrations of the one or more molecules differs from the characteristic profile of changes;
- and
- cause the energy application device to apply the second non-invasive ultrasound energy treatment after the adjusted time of the recovery period.
