The invention relates to methods and compositions for treatment of IL13Rα2-overexpressing cancer, wherein the treatment comprises administering a protein tyrosine phosphatase-1B (PTP1B) inhibitor.

A method of treatment of IL13Rα2-overexpressing cancer in a subject, wherein the treatment comprises administering to said subject an effective amount of a protein tyrosine phosphatase-1B (PTP1B) inhibitor, wherein the PTP1B inhibitor is Claramine, and wherein the cancer is glioblastoma (GBM), metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC), or ovarian cancer (OC).
