Abstract
Systems, devices, methods, and kits for monitoring one or more physiologic and/or physical signals from a subject are disclosed. A system including a head mounted display to monitor one or more physiologic signals from the face or head of the subject is disclosed. A method for analyzing an ocular parameter of the subject to determine a sympathetic and a parasympathetic outflow thereto is disclosed.
Claims20
A system for monitoring a subject, comprising:
- a head mounted display configured and sized for placement onto a head of the subject, the head mounted display comprising a visual input device and a back-facing imaging sensor;
- the visual input device arranged within a field of view of the subject when the head mounted display is coupled to the head of the subject, the visual input device being configured to display one or more output images for the subject;
- the back-facing imaging sensor arranged with the field of view of the subject and covering one or more facial features of the subject when the head mounted display is coupled to the head of the subject, the back-facing imaging sensor being configured to generate one or more feedback images of the subject;
- and
- a processor at least one of electrically coupled and wirelessly coupled to the visual input device and the back-facing imaging sensor, the processor being configured:
- to deliver the one or output images to the visual input device;
- to accept the one or more feedback images;
- to analyze the one or more feedback images to identify sphincter muscle related movement and dilator muscle related movement of one or more features of one or more eyes of the subject;
- and
- to generate one or more metrics related to at least one of parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) and sympathetic nervous system (SNS) outflow to the one or more eyes of the subject based at least in part on the identified sphincter muscle related movement and dilator muscle related movement of the one or more features of the one or more eyes of the subject.
