Abstract
Apparatuses, systems and methods of providing heat to enable an FDM additive manufacturing nozzle having refined print control and enhanced printing speed. The heating element may include at least one sheath sized to fittedly engage around an outer circumference of the FDM printer nozzle; at least one wire coil at least partially contacting an inner diameter of the sheath; and at least one energy receiver associated with the at least one wire coil.
Claims16
A heating element for a 3D printer nozzle, comprising:
- at least one sheath comprising a first inner diameter and a first outer diameter, the at least one sheath sized to engage around an outer circumference of the 3D printer nozzle;
- at least one wire coil having a variable coil density and consequent variable power density at least partially contacting the first inner diameter of the at least one sheath and communicative with a first energy source capable of heating the at least one wire coil;
- and
- a plurality of secondary energy sources suitable to couple with the first energy source to secondarily heat aspects of the at least one sheath, the secondary energy sources including at least inductive, infrared, microwave and radio frequency energy.
