Abstract
A recombinant system for improving genome editing via homologous recombination is disclosed. The system comprising a first nucleic acid sequence encoding a DNA editing agent having a double strand DNA cutting activity and a second nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide capable of increasing homologous recombination in a target cell.

A recombinant system for improving genome editing via homologous recombination, the system comprising a first nucleic acid sequence encoding a Cas9 nuclease and a second nucleic acid sequence encoding a UL12 polypeptide, wherein said UL12 polypeptide is devoid of enzymatic activity, and wherein said recombinant system encodes for a Cas9-UL12 fusion protein.
