Lighting systems with adjustable interior lighting

A vehicle, comprising:

• a body;
• a covering structure on the body;
• a sensor configured to gather user input on the covering structure;
• an illumination system configured to provide illumination through the covering structure, wherein the illumination provides ambient lighting in a first mode of operation and informational lighting in a second mode of operation;
• and
• control circuitry configured to adjust the illumination based on the user input.

A vehicle, comprising:

• a body;
• a covering layer on the body;
• an illumination system that provides illumination through the covering layer;
• a sensor overlapping the covering layer and configured to detect user input on the covering layer;
• and
• control circuitry configured to shift a location of the illumination from a first portion of the covering layer to a second portion of the covering layer in response to the user input.
