Apparatus and methods for truncating elongated members

A cutting tool for truncating elongated structural members, said cutting tool comprising:

• a frame, comprising two parallel side rails,
• a cross member attached to a first end of each of the two parallel side rails, and
• an end gate pivotably and removably mounted to a second end of each of the two parallel side rails;
• wherein the end gate includes first and second integral cutting edges on opposite sides and on the same plane;
• a flat driven third blade slidably disposed between the two parallel side rails, the flat driven third blade having a concave cutting edge, the concave cutting edge facing the end gate;
• the second integral cutting edge having a concave cutting edge, the concave cutting edge of the second integral cutting edge facing the driven third blade;
• wherein said second integral cutting edge and said cutting edge of said flat driven third blade form an opening within the frame configured to surround the elongated structural member;
• and
• at least two hydraulic cylinders each having an extendable and retractable cylinder rod mechanism for movement of the driven third blade toward the second integral cutting edge,
• wherein said movement causes the driven third blade to truncate the elongated structural member extending through said frame opening, between the driven third blade and the second integral cutting edge, and
• wherein an end gate pivotal and removable mount comprises a first extendable and retractable pin and a lockable mount by a second extendable and retractable pin via a hydraulic cylinder and wherein the end gate is pivoted by another hydraulic cylinder.
