Assembly system

An assembly system for assembling a finished product while sequentially placing and fixing multiple types of components to a workpiece, the assembly system comprising:

• a collaborative robot configured to collaborate with a worker;
• an identification information reading unit configured to read identification information indicated on the component placed on the workpiece;
• and
• a controller configured to determine whether a type of the component placed on the workpiece is correct or incorrect based on the read identification information, and control the collaborative robot in accordance with a result of the correctness determination,
• wherein:
• the controller controls the collaborative robot to fix the component on the workpiece when the controller determines that the type of the component placed on the workpiece is correct;
• and
• the controller controls the collaborative robot not to fix the component on the workpiece when the controller determines that the type of the component placed on the workpiece is incorrect.
