Methods for bonding stranded cable subunits to central member

A method of preparing a bundled cable, comprising:

• winding a plurality of subunits about a central member, wherein at least one of the plurality of subunits comprises a subunit jacket made of a first thermoplastic composition comprising a first outer surface and the central member comprises a central member jacket comprising a second thermoplastic composition with a second outer surface;
• providing a metal element at an interface of the second outer surface and the first outer surface of the at least one of the plurality of subunits;
• and
• heating the metal element such that at least one of the first thermoplastic composition or the second thermoplastic composition forms bonds with the other of the first thermoplastic composition or the second thermoplastic composition;
• wherein the step of heating comprises passing the at least one of the plurality of subunits and central member through inductive coils that heats at least one of the first thermoplastic composition or the second thermoplastic composition.
