Abstract
A coating material processable by non-impact printing to form at least a part of a coating layer representing an image, the coating material having an amorphous resin portion, is curable and is configured for being applied with a thickness of at least 15 μm, the coating material having one or more of the following: a polyester resin having at least one incorporated acid monomer and wherein at least 10 weight percent of the at least one incorporated acid monomer is isophthalic acid; a polyester resin containing 1 to 100 w-% of cycloaliphatic glycol compounds with respect to the total weight of the glycol compounds of the polyester resin component; an acrylic resin; a fluorine containing polymer; a polyurethane resin.
Claims18
Processing system comprising:
- a coating material;
- and
- a non-impact printing device for printing the coating material;
- the non-impact printing device being configured for generating from the coating material a coating layer on a transfer element wherein the coating layer is generated as a plurality of dots;
- the coating material comprising an amorphous resin portion and being curable;
- wherein the coating material comprises an amount of 0.1 weight percent to 10 weight percent of a charge control agent, CCA;
- the coating material comprising one or more of the following:
- (i) a polyester resin comprising at least one incorporated acid monomer and wherein at least 10 weight percent of the at least one incorporated acid monomer is isophtalic acid;
- (ii) a polyester resin containing 1 to 100 w-% of cycloaliphatic glycol compounds with respect to a total weight of the glycol compounds of the polyester resin component;
- (iii) an acrylic resin;
- (iv) a fluorine containing polymer;
- (v) a polyurethane resin;
- the coating material further comprising
- a curing agent comprising at least one crosslinking agent and/or at least one thermal initiator and/or at least one photoinitiator and/or at least one catalyst;
- and
- wherein the coating material comprises the curing agent in an amount such that
- a cured coating material is able to reach a rating of at least 2-3 in the Methylethylketone-test after 10 seconds according to the DIN EN 12720 and/or
- the cured coating material resists at least 50 Isopropyl alcohol double rubs.
A method comprising:
- applying a coating layer generated from a coating material to a target surface by means of a non-impact printing device wherein the coating layer is generated as a plurality of dots;
- the coating material comprising an amorphous resin portion and being curable;
- wherein the coating material comprises an amount of 0.1 weight percent to 10 weight percent of a charge control agent, CCA;
- the coating material comprising one or more of the following:
- (i) a polyester resin comprising at least one incorporated acid monomer and wherein at least 10 weight percent of the at least one incorporated acid monomer is isophtalic acid;
- (ii) a polyester resin containing 1 to 100 w-% of cycloaliphatic glycol compounds with respect to a total weight of the glycol compounds of the polyester resin component;
- (iii) an acrylic resin;
- (iv) a fluorine containing polymer;
- (v) a polyurethane resin;
- the coating material further comprising
- a curing agent comprising at least one crosslinking agent and/or at least one thermal initiator and/or at least one photoinitiator and/or at least one catalyst;
- and
- wherein the coating material comprises the curing agent in an amount such that
- a cured coating material is able to reach a rating of at least 2-3 in the Methylethylketone-test after 10 seconds according to the DIN EN 12720 and/or
- the cured coating material resists at least 50 Isopropyl alcohol double rubs.
