Abstract
Medical devices and method for making and using the same are disclosed. An example medical device may include implantable medical device for use along the biliary and/or pancreatic tract. The implantable medical device may include a tubular member having a first end configured to be disposed within the duodenum of a patient and a second end configured to be disposed adjacent to a pancreatic duct and/or bile duct. The tubular member may have a body including one or more wire filaments that are woven together. The tubular member may also have an outer surface with a longitudinal channel formed therein.
Claims20
An implantable stent comprising:
- a tubular member having a first end region, a second end region, and a main body extending longitudinally therebetween, wherein the first end region is flared with an outer diameter larger than an outer diameter of the main body and larger than an outer diameter of the second end region;
- a plurality of longitudinal channels formed in the main body, wherein the flared first end region is devoid of any channel;
- and
- a covering disposed on at least one of an inner and an outer surface of the tubular member.
An implantable stent comprising:
- a tubular member having a first end region, a second end region, and a main body extending longitudinally therebetween, wherein the first end region is flared radially outward from the main body, wherein the tubular member has a circumferential outer surface and a circumferential inner surface;
- a plurality of longitudinal channels formed in the main body, wherein the tubular member is displaced radially inward from the circumferential outer surface to form the plurality of longitudinal channels, wherein the flared first end region is devoid of any channel;
- and
- a covering disposed on at least one of the circumferential inner surface and the circumferential outer surface of the tubular member.
An implantable stent comprising:
- a tubular member having a first end region, a second end region, and a main body extending longitudinally therebetween, wherein the first end region is flared with an outer diameter larger than an outer diameter of the main body and larger than an outer diameter of the second end region;
- a plurality of longitudinal channels formed only in the main body, wherein the flared first end region and/or the second end region is devoid of any channel;
- and
- a polymer covering disposed on at least one of an inner and an outer surface of the tubular member.
