Systems and methods for changing a color temperature and brightness of a light

An apparatus to control light, comprising:

• a mirror platform, the mirror platform having a first area and a second area, the first area is a reflective area, a reflectivity of the second area has been changed relative to a reflectivity of the first area to permit light to pass through the second area from a backside of the mirror platform;
• a capacitive sensor controller, the capacitive sensor controller is configured with the mirror platform;
• a first capacitive sensor, the first capacitive sensor is electrically coupled to the capacitive sensor controller and the first capacitive sensor is mounted on a backside of the mirror platform, the first capacitive sensor is configured to output a signal responsive to a user;
• a first light source, the first light source is configured to produce light at a first color temperature;
• a light source controller, the light source controller is electrically coupled to the first light source and the capacitive sensor controller, wherein in response to the signal, the light source controller is configured to generate a first signal for the first light source;
• and
• logic, the logic is configured to cause a processor to perform steps comprising:
• establishing a plurality of states, where each state of the plurality sets a light illumination level and a duration of time associated with the illumination level;
• associating a tap with a state from the plurality of states;
• and
• driving the first light source with a first signal to produce the state.

An apparatus to control light, comprising:

• a mirror platform, the mirror platform having a first area and a second area, the first area is a reflective area, a reflectivity of the second area has been changed relative to a reflectivity of the first area to permit light to pass through the second area from a backside of the mirror platform;
• a capacitive sensor controller;
• a first capacitive sensor, the first capacitive sensor is electrically coupled to the capacitive sensor controller and the first capacitive sensor is mounted on a backside of the mirror platform, the first capacitive sensor is configured to output a signal responsive to a user;
• a first light source, the first light source is configured to produce light at a first color temperature;
• a light source controller, the light source controller is electrically coupled to the first light source and the capacitive sensor controller, wherein in response to the signal, the light source controller is configured to generate a first signal for the first light source;
• and
• logic, the logic is configured to cause a processor to perform steps comprising:
• associating a quick user motion with a first set of state changes, wherein the quick user motion causes the signal to last for a short period of time;
• associating a slow user motion with a second set of state changes, wherein the slow user motion causes the signal to last for a longer period of time;
• operating the first light source with at least one of the associating the quick user motion and the associating the slow user motion.
