Abstract
Methods and systems for controlling the receipt and transmission of audio transmissions are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes selecting a first audio channel and transmitting a first audio transmission using the first audio channel. A second audio transmission may then be received that contains an acknowledgment of the first audio transmission. In certain instances, the second audio transmission may be received on the first audio channel. If a second audio transmission is received on the first audio channel, it may be determined that the first audio transmission was successfully received by another computing device.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- selecting a first audio channel, wherein the first audio channel is randomly selected from among a plurality of audio channels;
- transmitting, from a first computing device, a first audio transmission to a second computing device using the first audio channel;
- waiting for a predetermined period of time to receive a second audio transmission containing an acknowledgment of the first audio transmission on the first audio channel;
- and
- responsive to receiving the second audio transmission within the predetermined period of time, determining that the first audio transmission was successfully received.
A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory storing instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- select a first audio channel, wherein the first audio channel is randomly selected from among a plurality of audio channels;
- transmit, from a first computing device, a first audio transmission to a second computing device using the first audio channel;
- wait for a predetermined period of time to receive a second audio transmission containing an acknowledgment of the first audio transmission on the first audio channel;
- and
- responsive to receiving the second audio transmission within the predetermined period of time, determine that the first audio transmission was successfully received.
