Abstract
An apparatus including a first module and a second module. The first module may be configured to generate one or more values based upon an analysis of one or more samples of a first frame. The second module may be configured to encode one or more samples of a second frame taking into account the one or more values generated by the first module. The one or more values generally represent a measure of an effect on the one or more samples of the first frame of encoding decisions made during encoding of the one or more samples of the second frame.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- a pre-encoder to generate one or more values associated with an estimated distortion persisting between frames from a received plurality of frames, the estimated distortion caused by one or more encoding decisions asserted to the frames;
- and
- an encoder to encode the frames using a mode for the encoding based in part on the one or more values generated by the pre-encoder.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to:
- pre-encode frames from a received plurality of frames to generate one or more values associated with an estimated distortion persisting between the frames, the estimated distortion caused by one or more encoding decisions asserted to the frames;
- and
- encode the frames using a mode that is based in part on the one or more values generated by the pre-encoding of the frames.
A computer-implemented method for encoding frames using at least a processor and a memory comprising instructions that, executed by the at least one processor causes:
- pre-encoding of frames from a received plurality of frames to generate one or more values associated with an estimated distortion persisting between the frames, the estimated distortion caused by one or more encoding decisions asserted to the frames;
- and
- encoding of the frames using a mode that is based in part on the one or more values generated by the pre-encoding of the frames.
