Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify radio access technology (RAT) state information associated with the UE, the RAT state information including an indication of whether the UE is operating in a steady state or is operating in a transition state. The UE may adapt a codec rate associated with an application of the UE based at least in part on whether the UE is operating in the steady state or is operating in the transition state. Numerous other aspects are provided.

A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
- identifying radio access technology (RAT) state information associated with the UE, the RAT state information including an indication of whether the UE is operating in a steady state or is operating in a transition state;
- and
- adapting a codec rate associated with an application of the UE based at least in part on whether the UE is operating in the steady state or is operating in the transition state.
A user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- one or more processors coupled to the memory, the one or more processors configured to:
- identify radio access technology (RAT) state information associated with the UE, the RAT state information including an indication of whether the UE is operating in a steady state or is operating in a transition state;
- and
- adapt a codec rate associated with an application of the UE based at least in part on whether the UE is operating in the steady state or is operating in the transition state.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions for wireless communication, the set of instructions comprising:
- one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to:
- identify radio access technology (RAT) state information associated with the UE, the RAT state information including an indication of whether the UE is operating in a steady state or is operating in a transition state;
- and
- adapt a codec rate associated with an application of the UE based at least in part on whether the UE is operating in the steady state or is operating in the transition state.
An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:
- means for identifying radio access technology (RAT) state information associated with the apparatus, the RAT state information including an indication of whether the apparatus is operating in a steady state or is operating in a transition state;
- and
- means for adapting a codec rate associated with an application of the apparatus based at least in part on whether the apparatus is operating in the steady state or is operating in the transition state.
