Abstract
Systems and methods are provided for dynamically selecting a dual connectivity anchor node for a user device. It is determined that the user device is located in an area having two or more nodes that are able to provide coverage to the user device in the area. From broadcast messages, it is determined whether each of the two or more nodes has a CDRX mode enabled or disabled. Then, a QCI is determined for the user device. Based on whether the each of the two or more nodes has the CDRX mode enabled and the QCI for the user device, one of the two or more nodes is selected as the dual connectivity anchor node for the user device.
Claims18
A system for dynamically selecting a dual connectivity anchor node for a user device, the system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- one or more computer storage hardware devices storing computer-usable instructions that, when used by the processor, cause the processor to:
- determine that the user device is located in an area having two or more nodes that are able to provide coverage to the user device in the area;
- from broadcast messages, determine whether each of the two or more nodes has a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) mode enabled;
- determine a Quality of Service (QoS) Class Identifier (OCI) for the user device;
- and
- based on whether the each of the two or more nodes has the CDRX mode enabled and the QCI for the user device, select one of the two or more nodes as the dual connectivity anchor node for the user device.
A method for dynamically selecting a dual connectivity anchor node for a user device, the method comprising:
- determining that the user device is located in an area having two or more nodes that are able to provide coverage to the user device in the area;
- from broadcast messages, determining whether each of the two or more nodes has a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) mode enabled;
- determining a Quality of Service (QoS) Class Identifier (OCI) for the user device;
- and
- based on whether the each of the two or more nodes has the CDRX mode enabled and the QCI for the user device, selecting one of the two or more nodes as the dual connectivity anchor node for the user device.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed, perform a method for dynamically selecting a dual connectivity anchor node for a user device, the method comprising:
- determining that the user device is located in an area having two or more nodes that are able to provide coverage to the user device in the area;
- from broadcast messages, determining whether each of the two or more nodes has a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) mode enabled;
- determining a Quality of Service (QoS) Class Identifier (OCI) for the user device;
- and
- based on whether the each of the two or more nodes has the CDRX mode enabled and the QCI for the user device, selecting one of the two or more nodes as the dual connectivity anchor node for the user device.
