Abstract
An information processing system for controlling usage of a service to be provided to a user via a device, obtains information on an amount of resource usage by a server in providing the service, determines whether the amount of resource usage satisfies at least one condition of a plurality of conditions previously set, and when the amount of resource usage is determined to satisfy at least one condition of the plurality of conditions, performs, in accordance with the at least one condition, at least one of a plurality of control operations including a control operation for changing a screen displayed by the device and a control operation for restricting accumulation of the jobs in the second server.

An information processing system, comprising:
- circuitry configured to
- accumulate, by a virtual server, one or more jobs relating to a service to be provided via a device,
- obtain information on a total amount of previous resource usage by the virtual server over a predetermined time period in providing the service, wherein the total amount of previous resource usage includes an amount of hard disk drive usage for data accumulation for the service by the virtual server;
- determine whether the total amount of previous resource usage satisfies a condition indicating a threshold of an amount of HDD usage of a virtual server;
- and
- when the total amount of previous resource usage is determined to satisfy the condition, perform, in accordance with the condition, a control operation for restricting accumulation of the one or more jobs by the virtual server, the control operation transmitting information indicating that accumulation of the one or more jobs by the virtual server is restricted,
- wherein, in response to a request for accumulating the job from the device, an error indicating that accumulation of the job by the virtual server is restricted is transmitted to the device and displayed by the device, and
- wherein the virtual server is external to the device and manages the device that performs the service.

An information processing apparatus, comprising:
- processing circuitry configured to:
- obtain information on a total amount of previous resource usage by a virtual server over a predetermined time period in providing a service to a user via a device, wherein the total amount of previous resource usage includes an amount of hard disk drive usage for data accumulation for the service by the virtual server, the processing circuitry being configured to accumulate one or more jobs relating to the service by the virtual server;
- determine whether the total amount of previous resource usage satisfies a condition indicating a threshold of an amount of HDD usage of a virtual server;
- and
- when the total amount of previous resource usage is determined to satisfy the condition, perform, in accordance with the condition, a control operation for restricting accumulation of the one or more jobs by the virtual server, the control operation transmitting information indicating that accumulation of the one or more jobs by the virtual server is restricted,
- wherein, in response to a request for accumulating the job from the device, an error indicating that accumulation of the job by the virtual server is restricted is transmitted to the device and displayed by the device, and
- wherein the virtual server is external to the device and manages the device that performs the service.

- when determining that the total amount of previous resource usage satisfies the condition, performing, in accordance with the condition, at least one of control operations, a control operation for restricting accumulation of the one or more jobs by the virtual server, the control operation transmitting information indicating that accumulation of the one or more jobs by the virtual server is restricted,
- wherein, in response to a request for accumulating the job from the device, an error indicating that accumulation of the job by the virtual server is restricted is transmitted to the device and displayed by the device, and
- wherein the virtual server is external to the device and manages the device that performs the service.
