A multilayer ceramic electronic component, comprising:
- a capacitance forming portion including a plurality of dielectric layers and a plurality of first and second internal electrodes alternately stacked in a first direction with each dielectric layer interposed between the respective first and second internal electrodes;
- a ceramic body having first and second surfaces opposing each other in the first direction, third and fourth surfaces opposing each other in the second direction, and fifth and sixth surfaces opposing each other in a third direction;
- a margin portion disposed on two surfaces of the capacitance forming portion opposing each other in the second direction;
- a cover portion disposed on two other surfaces of the capacitance forming portion opposing each other in the first direction;
- and
- first and second external electrodes disposed on the fifth and sixth surfaces of the ceramic body, respectively,
- wherein the first and second external electrodes respectively include first and second conductive layers disposed on corners of the ceramic body, and first and second base electrodes covering the first and second conductive layers, respectively,
- wherein central portions of the fifth and sixth surfaces of the ceramic body are in direct contact with the first and second base electrodes, respectively,
- wherein the first conductive layer is in direct contact with both uppermost and lowermost electrodes of the first internal electrodes, and
- wherein the second conductive layer is in direct contact with both uppermost and lowermost electrodes of the second internal electrodes.
A multilayer ceramic electronic component, comprising:
