Abstract
Apparatus and method provide for wagering across multiple gaming operators operating at respective locations, using respective accounts accessible according to a location of a player.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor of a server, the at least one processor configured to control:
- determining, from a first location determination signal over a communication network from a first mobile computing device of a player indicating a current location of the player, that the player is at a first location;
- displaying, over the communication network, on a given graphical user interface of a given network computing device, information identifying a balance in a first account for the player, in which the first account is accessible by the player to place wagers associated with a first gaming operator that operates at the first location but not to place wagers associated with a second gaming operator;
- receiving, over the communication network from the given network computing device, an indication based on a submission through the given graphical user interface that at least a portion of the balance is available for transfer to a second account for the player, in which the second account is accessible by the player to place wagers associated with the second gaming operator at a second location but not to place wagers associated with the first gaming operator, in which wagering is allowed at both the first location and the second location, in which the first account and the second account are both linked to a linking account, to which money from each of the first and second accounts is transferrable and from which money is transferrable to each of the first and second accounts;
- displaying, over the communication network, indicia on a first graphical user interface of the first mobile computing device through which to request transfer of a given amount of money from one of the first and second accounts that causes the given amount of money to be transferred from the linking account to the other of the first and second accounts;
- determining whether a current location of the player is the second location from a second location determination signal over the communication network from the first mobile computing device indicating a current location of the player;
- receiving, over the communication network from the first mobile computing device, a request to transfer a first amount of money from the first account to the second account, in which the request to transfer is received automatically in response to a winning resulting from a wager placed by the player from the second account when the current location of the player is determined from the second location determination to be the second location;
- and
- automatically in response to the request to transfer and while the current location of the player continues to be determined as the second location from the second location determination signal,
- transferring, the first amount of money from the first account to the linking account;
- transferring the first amount of money from the linking account to the second account;
- and
- causing, over the communication network, the first mobile computing device to operate in an operating state in which the first mobile computing device is operable by the player to place through the first mobile computing device wagers associated with the second gaming operator using money in the second account and not operable by the player to place through the first mobile computing device wagers using money in the first account.

A method comprising:
- controlling, by at least one processor of a server:
- determining, from a first location determination signal over a communication network from a first mobile computing device of a player indicating a current location of the player, that the player is at a first location;
- displaying, over the communication network, on a given graphical user interface of a given network computing device, information identifying a balance in a first account for the player, in which the first account is accessible by the player to place wagers associated with a first gaming operator that operates at the first location but not to place wagers associated with a second gaming operator;
- receiving, over the communication network from the given network computing device, an indication based on a submission through the given graphical user interface that at least a portion of the balance is available for transfer to a second account for the player, in which the second account is accessible by the player to place wagers associated with the second gaming operator at a second location but not to place wagers associated with the first gaming operator, in which wagering is allowed at both the first location and the second location, in which the first account and the second account are both linked to a linking account, to which money from each of the first and second accounts is transferrable and from which money is transferrable to each of the first and second accounts;
- displaying, over the communication network, indicia on a first graphical user interface of the first mobile computing device through which to request transfer of a given amount of money from one of the first and second accounts that causes the given amount of money to be transferred from the linking account to the other of the first and second accounts;
- determining whether a current location of the player is the second location from a second location determination signal over the communication network from the first mobile computing device indicating a current location of the player;
- receiving, over the communication network from the first mobile computing device, a request to transfer a first amount of money from the first account to the second account, in which the request to transfer is received automatically in response to a winning resulting from a wager placed by the player from the second account when the current location of the player is determined from the second location determination to be the second location;
- and
- automatically in response to the request to transfer and while the current location of the player continues to be determined as the second location from the second location determination signal,
- transferring, the first amount of money from the first account to the linking account;
- transferring the first amount of money from the linking account to the second account;
- and
- causing, over the communication network, the first mobile computing device to operate in an operating state in which the first mobile computing device is operable by the player to place through the first mobile computing device wagers associated with the second gaming operator using money in the second account and not operable by the player to place through the first mobile computing device wagers using money in the first account.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium that stores instructions which, when executed by at least one processor of a server, control:
- determining, from a first location determination signal over a communication network from a first mobile computing device of a player indicating a current location of the player, that the player is at a first location;
- displaying, over the communication network, on a given graphical user interface of a given network computing device, information identifying a balance in a first account for the player, in which the first account is accessible by the player to place wagers associated with a first gaming operator that operates at the first location but not to place wagers associated with a second gaming operator;
- receiving, over the communication network from the given network computing device, an indication based on a submission through the given graphical user interface that at least a portion of the balance is available for transfer to a second account for the player, in which the second account is accessible by the player to place wagers associated with the second gaming operator at a second location but not to place wagers associated with the first gaming operator, in which wagering is allowed at both the first location and the second location, in which the first account and the second account are both linked to a linking account, to which money from each of the first and second accounts is transferrable and from which money is transferrable to each of the first and second accounts;
- displaying, over the communication network, indicia on a first graphical user interface of the first mobile computing device through which to request transfer of a given amount of money from one of the first and second accounts that causes the given amount of money to be transferred from the linking account to the other of the first and second accounts;
- determining whether a current location of the player is the second location from a second location determination signal over the communication network from the first mobile computing device indicating a current location of the player;
- receiving, over the communication network from the first mobile computing device, a request to transfer a first amount of money from the first account to the second account, in which the request to transfer is received automatically in response to a winning resulting from a wager placed by the player from the second account when the current location of the player is determined from the second location determination to be the second location;
- determining whether the first amount of money is less than or equal to the at least the portion in response to receiving the request to transfer;
- and
- automatically in response to the request to transfer and while the current location of the player continues to be determined as the second location from the second location determination signal,
- transferring, the first amount of money from the first account to the linking account;
- transferring the first amount of money from the linking account to the second account;
- and
