Provisioning credentials for an electronic transaction on an electronic device

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium configured to store instructions that, when executed by a processor included in a computing device, cause the computing device to perform payment operations, by carrying out steps that include:

• accessing a vendor transaction platform;
• receiving, from the vendor transaction platform, a request to perform a payment operation;
• determining that the computing device lacks possession of at least one payment credential that is personalized to the computing device;
• executing a first process that prevents the vendor transaction platform from performing a time-out operation at least through performing the payment operation;
• executing a second process for generating a personalized payment credential, wherein the second process executes concurrently with the first process, and comprises:
• generating the personalized payment credential based at least on a personalization script that is unique to the computing device, wherein the personalization script is based on payment credential information received by the computing device;
• performing the payment operation with the vendor transaction platform using the personalized payment credential;
• and
• storing the personalized payment credential to be used for subsequent payment operations.

A computing device, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing device to perform payment operations, by carrying out steps that include:
• accessing a vendor transaction platform;
• receiving, from the vendor transaction platform, a request to perform a payment operation;
• determining that the computing device lacks possession of at least one payment credential that is personalized to the computing device;
• executing a first process that prevents the vendor transaction platform from performing a time-out operation at least through performing the payment operation;
• executing a second process for generating a personalized payment credential, wherein the second process executes concurrently with the first process, and comprises:
• generating the personalized payment credential based at least on a personalization script that is unique to the computing device, wherein the personalization script is based on payment credential information received by the computing device;
• performing the payment operation with the vendor transaction platform using the personalized payment credential;
• and
• storing the personalized payment credential to be used for subsequent payment operations.
