Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a catalyst that includes a support that includes a metal oxide and a metal deposited on the support, where the metal oxide includes at least one of TiO2, Al2O3, SiO2, CeO2, and/or ZrO2, the metal includes at least one of Pt, Pd, Ru Rh, Ni, and/or Mo, the metal is in the form of a particle, and the metal is present on the support at a concentration between about 0.1 wt % and about 5.0 wt %.
Claims12
A catalyst consisting of:
- a TiO2 support;
- and
- platinum deposited on the TiO2 support, wherein:
- the platinum is present on a surface of the TiO2 support at a concentration between about 0.1 wt % and about 2.0 wt % relative to the TiO2 support, and
- the catalyst is characterized by:
- a diameter between about 300 μm and about 1200 μm;
- a total surface area between about 35 m2/g and about 75 m2/g;
- a pore volume between about 0.20 cm3/g and about 0.55 cm3/g;
- a median pore diameter between about 290 Å and about 380 Å;
- and
- the catalyst is synthesized using a solution processing method using only TiO2, a platinum source, water, and a buffer.
A method comprising:
- treating a pyrolysis vapor in an upgrading unit to produce an upgraded pyrolysis product comprising an oxygenated compound, wherein:
- the treating comprises contacting the pyrolysis vapor with a catalyst consisting of:
- a TiO2 support;
- and
- platinum deposited on the TiO2 support, wherein:
- the platinum is present on a surface of the TiO2 support at a concentration between about 0.1 wt % and about 2.0 wt % relative to the TiO2 support, and the catalyst is characterized by:
- a diameter between about 300 μm and about 1200 μm;
- a total surface area between about 35 m2/g and about 75 m2/g;
- a pore volume between about 0.20 cm3/g and about 0.55 cm3/g;
- a median pore diameter between about 290 Å and about 380 Å.
