Abstract
A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a gaming system that cooperates with a graphical user interface to enable user modification and enhancement of one or more audio streams associated with the gaming system. In embodiments, the audio streams may include a game audio stream, a chat audio stream of conversation among players of a video game, and a microphone audio stream of a player of the video game. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a processing system including a processor, a gaming system audio stream during a video game, the gaming system audio stream comprising a plurality of audio streams including a chat audio stream produced by a plurality of players participating in the video game, a game audio stream and a microphone audio stream produced by one player of the plurality of players;
- detecting, by the processing system, a predetermined event in the gaming system audio stream during the video game, wherein the detecting the predetermined event comprises providing at least a portion of the gaming system audio stream to an artificial intelligence module which has been trained to detect particular sounds or predetermined audio events including the predetermined event and receiving, from the artificial intelligence module, an indication that the predetermined event has been detected;
- modifying, by the processing system, selected frequencies of an audio spectrum of the gaming system audio stream, the selected frequencies selected to emphasize the predetermined event in the gaming system audio stream, producing an equalized audio stream;
- and
- providing, by the processing system, the equalized audio stream to an audio device of the one player of the video game.
A device, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a gaming system audio stream from a gaming system;
- detecting a predetermined sound in the gaming system audio stream, wherein the detecting the predetermined sound comprises providing at least a portion of the gaming system audio stream to a neural network which has been trained to detect particular sounds including the predetermined sound and to generate an indication that the predetermined sound has been detected in the gaming system audio stream from the gaming system;
- selecting a predetermined audio profile responsive to the detecting a predetermined event in the gaming system audio stream;
- modifying selected frequencies of the gaming system audio stream according to the predetermined audio profile, producing a modified audio stream;
- and
- providing the modified audio stream to an audio device of a player of the gaming system.
A non-transitory, machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a gaming system audio stream during a video game;
- separating the gaming system audio stream into a plurality of audio streams including a chat audio stream produced by a plurality of players participating in the video game, a game audio stream and a microphone audio stream produced by a first player of the plurality of players;
- processing the game audio stream to detect a predetermined audio event in the game audio stream, wherein the processing the game audio stream comprises providing at least a portion of the game audio stream to a neural network which has been trained to detect one or more audio events including the predetermined audio event in the game audio stream;
- providing, on a display device, a visual indication of detection of the predetermined audio event for the first player of the video game;
- modifying selected audio frequencies of the game audio stream to enhance audibility of the predetermined audio event for the first player of the video game, producing a modified audio stream;
- and
- providing the modified audio stream to audio equipment of the first player of the video game.
