Abstract
The present invention provides, in various embodiments, an instrument shield for a robotic surgical system comprising eye shield(s) and/or a face shield mounted on the instrument to protect surgeons from contaminants.
Claims13
An instrument shield for a surgeon console of a robotic surgical system, comprising:
- at least one eye shield configured to be removably attached to an eyepiece of the console;
- wherein the at least on eye shield comprises an outer lip and a transparent lens;
- wherein the outer lip of the at least one eye shield is configured to mate onto a raised rim of the eyepiece of the console and comprises an integral perimeter groove configured to mate with the raised rim of the eyepiece;
- wherein the transparent lens is configured to cover a viewing portion of the eyepiece and a face shield configured to be removably attached to the console.
